Tiffany Heymans

Country: Belgium

My name is Heymans Tiffany , I'm 34 years old and live in Belgium.
My passion for photography started at the age of 27. I loved to take photographs of dogs so I just asked random people on the street if I could take some pictures.
On a sunny day I went with my youngest son on a daytrip to search for some interesting dogs to photograph, when my son kept asking me to photograph a bee on a flower...
I only had a single lens (a 50mm 1,8) so it was not so easy to photograph a bee on a flower but as my son continued calling me, I just tried it and took the shot.
When we came home I was going through op the photos I had made and suddenly I saw the image of the bee on the flower and I was quite surprised to see the details of such a little animal. From that day on, my passion for macrophotography was born.
Years passed and I joined a photoclub, which only worked on nature photography, called “Natuurfotografen van het Pajottenland”.
It was great to evolve and about 1 year ago I got asked by Jozef Aerts, the Belgian representative of the PSA, if I would like to join the society and start competing in different exhibitions. I was a bit unsure cause I never thought my work would be so good, but a lot of people in the PSA and FIAP world saw a talent in me, especially cause I'm the youngest female competing.

So I entered my very first contest which was the 5th ONYX in Romania and from that day on I wanted to get better and try out other photography topics such as street photography, portrait photography, wedding photography... I love to try out new things but macrophotography is still the passion I love the most.

Now I mainly photograph macro, children, old persons, animals and street photograhy.

My kids also love to pose so I made some great work thanks to them and also received several awards, so it's great I can combine my children into my passion.

Also thanks to Jozef Aerts I was able to join one of the best contest photoclub in Belgium IRIS Lede. I was so amazed by the talent in that club and they gave so much inspiration and appreciation for my work.
On 15 september 2021, I received my first PSA ROPA title: QPSA.
I'm more active in PSA than FIAP at the moment though cause the requirements for FIAP are a bit more challenging but normally this year I should be able to earn my AFIAP.

I hope my journey will continue this way and that I can still keep learning from other great photographers.
