Stephanie Stephenson, Hon.CPE
Country: England
Throughout my life since my teenage years, I have enjoyed ‘taking pictures’, mainly of family and holiday visits, for many years I used a kodak ‘point ’n shoot’, progressing to a Mamiya film SLR when my children were small. I later became the proud owner of a Nikon 3200 -bought for me by my husband - on my retirement from accountancy.
After a couple of years relaxing and travelling, I joined a local camera club as, until then, most of my images had stayed as prints from my film shooting days, the cards or computer after embracing digital. I was soon encouraged to enter club competitions and learned much from colleagues and competition critiques. I decided to upgrade my camera to a full frame Nikon D610, then during the pandemic, to mirrorless with the Nikon Z6. I currently shoot with some ‘Z’ lenses and other Nikon ‘F’ lenses, which I use with via an FTZ adapter. I also like the artistic results available with fully manual, Lensbaby Lenses. I was persuaded to enter the 6th Campina when my son and his family lived in Romania for three years, this will be my third year of entry. I am a member of both National Trust and English Heritage, and make regular trips to distant areas of England to visit family, as well as overseas when possible. My favourite genres are Landscape and Macro but I have recently been exploring the chance to combine my earlier love of art with photography, via Mixed Media and also fine art images- although I notice these are not acceptable to yourselves. I am very pleased, and indeed honoured, to receive the CPE recognition and hope to continue to gain further awards in the future.
I was very honoured and pleased to receive the Honorary Distinction and look forward to contribute to CPE in future years.
