Born in a small town called Berhampore in the historical district of Murshidabad in West Bengal, India, Soumik Chattopadhyay has always been an admirer of Camera and good photography.

The admiration grew several bounds and Soumik today is a passionate Street and Portrait photography enthusiast and has been conferred with AFIP from Federation of Indian Photography and AFIAP from International Federation of Photographic Art.

After completing his Master's degree in Bengali Literature, Soumik started his professional career with the Panchayat & Rural Development department under the Govt. of West Bengal. in India 
Little did he know that his job will eventually take him closer to his childhood dream of becoming a photographer.
His job at the rural development programme took him closer to the villagers and their lifestyle in the interiors of Bengal. That's when he piqued Street and Portrait photography.

His interest took shape when he joined Photographic Society of Murshidabad (PSM), oldest photography club in Murshidabad. The able guidance of the mentors at PSM, opened the stairway to portrait, street, macro,landscape photography. And he never stopped clicking....
