HONORARY DISTINCTION
Hon.CPE

Ray Kilham – LRPS, CPAGB, ACA, Hon CPE

Country: England

I have been photographing wildlife for a number of years, I am based in Northamptonshire, UK.

From a young age i have always had an interest in wildlife starting out with a keen interest in all things aquatic. Moving out of London over thirty years ago I extended his thirst for knowledge and began to study wildlife in greater detail, and from there photography was born.

I have travelled to all parts of the UK, and locations much further afield, including the rain forest in Borneo! I have worked on several different projects globally, for example photographing Orangutans in the rain forest. My photography concentrates on the natural world and is motivated by a desire to capture its beauty in camera. My favourite photographs are often those which record a 'decisive moment' and show wild creatures in the context of their natural habitat, sometimes with an element of minimalist.

Since starting photography, I have built up an amazing portfolio of images covering many subjects, other images can be seen on both my social networking Facebook and Twitter pages. I have achieved several successes in major "UK" and International wildlife competitions and International salons.

Examples of my work have been published in the National press, Wildlife Photography magazines and in the "RPS" Journal, one image graced the “RPS” membership card one year. Normally in my kit bag is a Canon 1DX MKII, normally used in conjunction with a Canon 600mm F4 lens, all supported with a Gitzo tripod and a Gitzo fluid gimbal head
