Protap Shekhor Mohanto is a banker by profession and a photographer by profession. Though he is an amateur photographer, his dedication in photography is of a pro level, which is reflected in his more than 200 international awards and the photographic distinctions.

Prior to starting photography, he would love to watch photos being wondered how the amazing moments are captured in frames. Just to satisfy this curiosity he started to learn photography and did the basic course at Aalor Ishkool (meaning school rendering light) of Bishwo Sahityo Kendro (World Literature Centre).

He is an active and life member of Bangladesh Photographic Society, the national federation of FIAP in Bangladesh and a mentor in Bishwo Sahityo Kendro Photographic Circle, an effective platform for interested new photographers of Bangladesh.

Lifestyle, street and travel photography are his favorite genres. Now-a-days he is enjoying wildlife photography as well.

Considering his contribution in promotion of photographic art worldwide, he has been conferred Honorary Hon.CPE title by Campina Photographic Exhibitions Society.
