Livinus Bleyen lives in Flanders, the northern part of Belgium and was always interested in photography, but became more serious when he founded a camera club with some friends in 1980.
In the late 1990s he had to withdraw because of time restraints, and after a break he started competing internationally again in 2007.
He was several times in the Top 5 Photojournalism -PJD- with the 2nd place in the world in 2014 in PSA Who’s Who.
His interests in photography are wide and varied, including people and places, sports and movements, landscapes , animals, but he also enjoys producing altered images.
Livinus Bleyen won more than 900 international awards,including 17 times FIAP Blue Pin Best Auteur Award.
The International Federation of Photographic Art FIAP has awarded him in 2020 with the Exellence Fiap diamond 3 (EFIAP/d3) distinction as the first Belgian ever.
