Janos Eifert was born on May 8, 1943 in Hódmez?vásárhely, Hungary.
1960-1977: professional dancer of the Honvéd Dancegroup. Starts making photos in 1968 on tours abroad.
1997: Member of the Association of Hungarian Photographers
1984-: Artistic director of „Sebesvíz” International Photo Workshop; lecturer and workshop leader at the Erste Werkschule für Fotografie in Soltau, Höhere Graphische Bundes- Lehr- und Versuchstanstalt Wien;
1992: AFIAP, EsFIAP
1997–2002: President of the Association of Hungarian Photographers
1998: artistic director of the I. National Photo Week, 1999 chairman of the II. National Photo Week’s advisory board, festival director of the Photo Month

He is one of the best-known representatives of his profession and art at home and abroad, a defining individual. His work cannot be organized into uniform style categories, he is a versatile, experimental, constantly renewing figure. His dance and nude photos, nature photographs and applied photographs have established his reputation, and in recent decades he has developed a distinctive style in the field of creative photography. He also works as a teacher, lecturer, specialist writer and expert.
Has been photographing in 40 countries around the world, and has compiled an archive of unparalleled value from this and te various subjects of this. His photographs, image reports and writings appeared regularly in the professional press, both in Hungary and abroad, as well as in newspapers, books, publications, in the electronic press, and on the Internet.
His photographs were often used in films, television programs, or as part of theatrical set, and he himself often appeared in various films and TV shows and series.
He has had 240 solo exhibitions, been featured in more than 2,000 group exhibitions worldwide, and has won countless awards, grand prizes, special awards, and degrees with his photos and slide shows.
The PSA (Photographic Society of America) is a five-star exhibitor in the Open Color and Open Monochrome categories and holds an EXCELLENCE (EPSA) award from PSA.
