I was touched by photography since my early childhood, most probably attracted by one of the early cameras that my dad owned in 1940’s that was using glass plates. I think that photography allowed me to express my feelings and seize human emotions and expression. As a youngster, I’ve worked for a number of years on an assembly line of the then Romanian ‘Orizont’ cameras. This experience offered me the opportunity to better understand the working principles of a camera and how a photographer could use light to bring life into his/her photos. Although I am not a professional photographer, I primarily used the photos I’ve captured for the design of books covers and various other publications, in my professional life, for over 20 year. Some of my photos were retained and awarded in various national and international contests and exhibitions.
