This is Ahmed Russell. I was born on 3 August, 1980 in Chittagong, Bangladesh. A Graduate with Honors in Bengali Language and Literature, I also completed my Masters and earned my M. Phil in the same subject from the University of Chittagong. By profession, I am a Lecturer of Literature in a College.
 
Photography is my love and passion. In 2008, my photography commenced with a second-hand cell phone which had a 2 megapixel camera. Even those photos used to inspire me to dream for better photography. I could afford to buy a DSLR camera after 2 years.
 
Being a part of the Photographic Revolution and becoming a good photographer equally fascinate me. Keeping this in my mind, I joined a 40 year old photographic society named Chattagram Photographic Society (CPS) where later on I became the General Secretary.
 
Chitrachintaa (photographic thought) – an online platform in Facebook is the brainchild of mine that grew up during the initial lockdown periods. I started writing on the legends of photography from home and abroad, bringing out a compilation of their lives and works from different sources. In addition to that, I organized Live discussion and chit-chat on Facebook where photographers from home and abroad joined enthusiastically.  
 
My achievement in photography is not much. I consider myself as a neophyte in this kingdom. I have participated in different competitions under the patronization of FIAP,PSA,GPU,MoL etc and have achieved over 200 acceptances, 40 awards including FIAP Gold, GPU Gold, MoL Gold, Club Gold, bronze, silver, FIAP ribbon etc.
 
My hard labour in photography was recognized in 2021 by Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique (FIAP) (International Federation of Photographic Art) by conferring me the AFIAP distinction.
 
My future plan is, along with regular distinction, achieving distinction in portfolios and documentaries. And it is my earnest wish to establish myself as a photographic artist and express my creativity through this medium.
