At the age of 16, he had his decisive moment in photography when he saw an awarded photograph of the Orwo-Pentacon International Photography Competition and became inspired by it. At 17, one of his color slides received 2nd place in the Hungarian Highschool-students’ National Competition. At 25, he became the youngest member of the Association of Hungarian Photographers/Photo-artists and the Association of Hungarian Creative Artist.
After the Berlin Wall came down and political situations got slightly more liberated in the "Eastern Bloc", Peter was among the first to organize an independent photography organization. That is how the Disosgyor Visual Art Guild was born. Peter as a founding member became the first president of the group, which quickly earned an international reputation. After his one-man show in Vancouver, Canada in 1992, he settled down in Florida, consequently, became a US citizen, and has resided there since his arrival. His photographer career, both in Hungary and in the US, was marked and highlighted by many different photography related and cultural activities. Volunteering in all possible positions in different organizations as a founding member, president, advisor, art-director, and exhibition coordinator and fundraiser.
Currently, he is an adjunct professor, teaching photography at State College of Florida in Bradenton, Florida.
