My awareness of photography started early in my life because I watched my father create his photographic work in our basement, using chemicals. When I attended College to study art, photography was a requirement and I also had to print my photos using chemicals. With the growing progress of new inventions, I eventually learned how to create a photo using computers and photoshop. As an art teacher for 33 years I inspired my students by presenting photo programs of my travels around the world. When I retired from teaching, I joined a photo club which is so beneficial in learning new techniques, sharing ideas, and traveling together. I love meeting people from other cultures and photographing their habitats, rituals, birds, and animals. I have visited 6 continents so far.
Recently I started to judge photo competitions after attending a PSA workshop. I am also a PSA Judge for students competing for scholarships who want to pursue a career in photography. My greatest accomplishment was being featured on the PSA Journal Cover in February 2017, accompanied with an article I wrote about my trip to Hokkaido, Japan. This past January 2021, PSA published my article titled “The Secrets Of Southern France.” Each article is accompanied with 10 photos of my work. Finally I want to express my joy in competing internationally, especially with Campina. Thank you so much.
