Marian Skapski

Country: Poland

My name is Marian Skapski. I was born in 1948.
I took up photography very late, at the age of 62, before retiring.
Trips to open air, contact with users through portals, that I am quite active.
In 2010, I bought a digital camera and that's how my adventure with photography began.
I knew it would be landscape because I have always liked hiking and being close to nature.
I also noticed the beauty of trees, their forms changing depending on the season and age, and their similarity to human life, and so trees became the main characters of my works.
In 2012, I created the figure of a man in a long cloak with a staff, which sometimes appears in my works. This character, to some extent, reflects my personal feelings and moods.
Most of the works feature reflection, musing, and the passing of time told through landscapes, where the main motifs are trees, sometimes combined with a figure, shrouded in the mystery of fog.
Due to age and certain health limitations, I do not travel very far for outdoor activities.
I mainly focus on areas near my place of residence, such as the Rogalinski Landscape Park, Legi Nadwarcianskie and the Wielkopolska National Park.
In 2011, I started publishing photos on the Fotoferia pl website, where
I am also a member of the Fotoferii Club.
Since 2015 I started sending photos to photo competitions.
My photos have won many medals and distinctions in photography competitions around the world, including the one organized by the Campina Photographic Exhibition Society.
