Gur Gurelli was born in Istanbul Turkey in 1968. He graduated from Business Administration, Photography and Camera Operation at Anadolu University. He met to photography through his father's Kodak Retina (1954) camera in his childhood years. In 2011, he bought a new digital camera set and video camera to shoot his son's basketball matches. 

In 2016, he moved to Balikesir and still living there. He loves to travel home and abroad. He prefers to shoot portraits, human life, human-place relationship, and travel photography. Also, he is interested in macro photography. Photography is a large part of his life but it is not his main business. He gives various lessons about photography. Gur has many acceptances and awards from international competitions in over 30 countries. At the same time he acts as a jury in international competitions.

He is a member of many photography associations. These are Photographic Society of America (PSA), the Federation Internationale de ?'art Photographique (FIAP), Sille Sanat Sarayi (SSS), Agile Photographic Society (APS), Campina Photographic Exhibitions S?ciety (CPE), Turkey Photographic Arts Federation of Turkey (TFSF), Balikesir Photo Art Association (BASAF)
