PESGSPC, HON.FWPAI, HON.CPE, HON.CAS, HON.FAPF, HON.M TPAS, A.CPE Country: India 1. Amitabha Sil was born in Calcutta in the year 1954. He was very kin in Photography since his childhood. Initially he started Photography with Zenith Camera in 1977. In 1980 he purchased Asahi Pentax K-1000 camera. And ultimately he switched over to Digital Camera (Nikon D-90) in 2010. Now He is using Nikon D-7000 Camera.  2. He is a Graduate (Chemistry Hons.) from Calcutta University in 1973. 3. He retired from Allahabad Bank in 2014 after giving a long 38 years of service. 4. He has persuaded many Photographic clubs to organize an international salons. Most of them have successfully organized many International salons. 5. Also he has guided many young and new photographers to receive photographic honours. 6. He organized successfully 32 consecutive yearly Inter Club Contests  on behalf of our National Body of Photography (FIP) from 1986  to 2017 as a Divisional Secretary. It is a record in the history of FIP.

7. He was elected as one of the Working Committee members in 1995 for the first time. Since then in every elections (Biennial) he was elected and continued as one of the Working Committee Members upto 2012. In 2013 he has been elected as Hon. Treasurer of FIP. Previously there was no separate post of Hon.Treasurer. Before 2013 it was tagged with Hon. General Secretay (i.e, Hon.secretary General and Treasurer). So he is the First separate Hon.Treasurer of FIP and continued upto 2016 (2 terms) successfully. During his tenure a lump sum amount of money has been saved.
8. In 2017 he has been elected as Vice President of our National Body of Photography, i.e. Federation of Indian Photography (FIP) and continued upto 2018
9. In 1982 he was the key man to organize 1st. All India Bank Employees Photographic Exhibition to promote art photography among the bank employees of India.
10. In 1984 he was the key man to organize 1st. All India Salon of Mountain Photography to promote art photography among the mountaineers and trekkers of India.  
11. He is one of the Founder members of Chhayapath Photographic Club(estd in 1983) in Kolkata, one of the active photographic club of India. Under his Secretary ship, Chhayapath , Calcutta organized 1st. Digital International salon in 2010 .
12. He used to give lectures on different topics of photography in different workshops, Seminars, photographic classes to promote art photography.
13. He has been acting as one of the jury members of different salons since 1988. So far he has served as one of the jury members in 382 different International Salons and 217 different National Salons / Photographic Competition.
14. He introduced Black & White Infra-Red art photography in 1980 for the first time in India.
15. He organized an All India Photographic Conference in Salt Lake, Calcutta to promote Art Photography in 1990. Although it was an All India Conference but many delegates from Bangladesh were attended that successful Photographic Conference.
16. His ten photographs alongwith his profile published in the “FOTOKINO” magazine of Denmark in December, 1984.
17. SEPETR Club of Republic of Belarus (previously U.S.S.R) invited his works for exhibiting the same in R. Belarus in 1992.
18. His photographs had been invited from Malayasia for exhibition of   “WORLD’S TOP PHOTOGRAPHERS” works in 2006 and 2016.
19. So far he has acquired 4312 International acceptances from 60 different countries & 505 National acceptances
20. So far he has received 534 awards from International and National salons.
